Carved from a Single Block
Our largest skull is carved from a single piece of natural gemstone — no seams, no assembly, no separate jaw. The scale allows the full depth of the stone's color, banding, and translucency to be visible from across a room, and the carving detail at the eye sockets, cheekbones, and crown reads clearly at display distance.
In crystal practice, a larger skull is traditionally placed as the anchor piece of an altar or grid — a central object that holds the space and the intention within it. The 4.5" size carries enough presence to serve that role without needing anything around it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How heavy is a 4.5-inch crystal skull, and what do I need to display it?
4.5-inch natural stone skull is a substantial object. Depending on the material, a finished piece typically weighs between 600g and 1,200g — denser stones such as obsidian and jasper sit toward the higher end, while fluorite and some quartz varieties are lighter.
For display, a flat, stable surface is sufficient. Some collectors use a small stand or foam ring to prevent the skull from rocking; others display it directly on a shelf or inside a cabinet. We recommend confirming the exact weight of your chosen piece on its product page before purchase, particularly if you are placing it on a glass shelf or surface with a weight limit.
What does the carving look like up close on a 4.5-inch skull?
At 4.5 inches, there is enough surface area for the carver to work finer structural detail — the orbital ridge, temporal bone, zygomatic arch, and individual tooth forms are more defined than on smaller sizes. The natural colour depth and internal layering of the stone are also more visible at this scale, since the carver removes more material and exposes more of what is inside the block.
We photograph each skull at multiple angles, including close-up shots of the face and surface texture. If you would like to see additional detail images of a specific piece in stock, contact us before purchasing.
Is the 4.5-inch skull a good choice as a gift or collector piece?
It depends on the recipient and the context. As a collector piece, the 4.5-inch size is our most substantial offering — the scale and material quality make it suitable for long-term display, and the natural variation in each stone means the piece cannot be replaced or exactly duplicated.
As a gift, the size means the presentation carries weight — literally. It arrives packaged for protection and can be accompanied by a material card explaining the stone's origin and traditional associations.
If you are unsure whether the 4.5-inch is appropriate for the recipient, the 3.0-inch is a more neutral starting point that works across a wider range of display contexts.
