Every skull begins as a single piece of natural Nine Dragon Jade, and no two stones ever vein alike. The green, brown and cream bands fall in different patterns from piece to piece — nature's fingerprints, not flaws. What variation exists is in the flow of each stone's own veining, laid down deep in the earth over ages.
Each skull is carved entirely by hand from a single piece of jade, then polished to a smooth, mirror-like glow. The rounded cranium, the deep eye sockets, the nasal cavity, the cheekbones and the row of teeth are all cut with the same patient hand — nothing moulded, nothing cast. This piece measures about 4.5 × 3.3 × 2.9 inches and weighs 950–1000 g, a commanding display piece built to anchor a shelf or desk.
Named for the Nine Dragon River in Fujian, China, Nine Dragon Jade is a green serpentine jade whose brown and cream veins wind through the stone like a river. Green jade has been treasured across cultures for millennia — the Aztecs and Maya valued it above gold, and the Māori of Aotearoa prized greenstone (pounamu) as a sacred heirloom.
