3.0" Yellow Chalcedony Standing QQ Unicorn

Yellow Chalcedony is a stone of light. This little unicorn is carved from a translucent stone that moves between creamy white and warm honey-yellow, glowing softly where the carving thins. The soft internal clouds and the gentle shift of tone mean no two pieces catch the light in quite the same way — nature's fingerprints, not flaws.

Each unicorn is carved entirely by hand from a single piece of chalcedony, then polished to a soft glow. The single horn, the two small pointed ears, the serene closed eye and the gently waving mane are all cut with the same patient hand. It stands 3.0 inches tall and weighs 120–130 g — a calm, radiant little figure for a shelf or a windowsill.

Chalcedony takes its name from the ancient harbour city of Chalcedon, recorded by Pliny the Elder, and Roman craftsmen cut it into seals and engraved gems; Victorian jewellers treasured it too.
